Here is a little gem from today’s Politbarometer survey. Most Germans (71%) don’t believe that Trump is able to broker a Russia-Ukraine peace deal (whatever that means), and only 24% think that he could do it. But for nearly two thirds of the far right AfD’s voters, the answer to that question is a hearty ‘jawohl!’.
The voters of the allegedly left-wing populist Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) also put a lot of trust in Trump. Conversely, the voters of the Left, from which BSW broke away less than a year ago, trust Trump even less than those of the SPD and the Greens.
Finally, the (very small) group of self-styled FDP voters is once more … very odd. I haven’t studied this in any systematic way, but my impression is that over the last couple of years, the Liberal’s shrinking base has turned a bit illiberal.

I must admit I find the split between the Left and BSW quite remarkable. I’m curious how similar patterns may play out during the election on other issues.
Birds of a feather.
So for those who do not know AfD Cindy’s of right wing, neo nazi mostly economically left behind. Sound familiar?
